Are you or have you been trying to make it in the music world. Have you made it? Does it feel as if it's impossible? Then maybe it's time to consider another way of doing things. Most rappers, singers, and musicians seek the fastest way possible to success. They are willing to sacrifice all in a short time. It is my belief that this approach is like gambling. I myself starting out as a rapper, chose this very destructive means of survival. The cost is too high in my opinion. Here's why. The desired dream is to be rich as well as famous. Money can be obtained in a shorter amount of time numerous ways. Time is ultimately a resource that cannot be replaced. And by the time that the artist figures out that (that approach) was a waste of time, they feel inclined to give up on the dream because it all seems impossible. Most people have had children, chosen to go to college, trade school, or joined the work force full time. and where does a music career fit into all that? If you are a true to life thug who has chosen to keep it real to your lyric's then add the following: county jail, prison, being shot, or even killed. Let's not forget the fact to most musicians feel drugs and music go hand and hand. I encourage all those reading this who really want success to consider teaming up. Forget trying work with friends and/or family. It's a lethal combination most of the time when the money and responsibility of "jammin" come into play. Look for those who are can keep a job as well as being driven. You will have to pay for what you need somehow. Those who work are dependable. Make a realistic plan based of your resources and what's with in your means. Anything other than this usually fails. My logic is this... If you can make money off your product on a small level, find a way to grow your business! it's as simple as that. On the day I was being released from the pen, I met (the late) Pimp C. He said "man if you wanna make it, first you sew up your neighborhood, then you sew up the next neighborhood, then you sew up the next neighborhood. After you sew up your city, then you sew up the next city. Might seem like it take along time, but that's how you make it. After hearing that, it confirmed a certain perspective that I had. This was the answer to a question that I had been praying for. After many years of wandering almost aimlessly, the path was clear. It might take a couple of years, but I know that i will make it. However I have also discovered anther truth. We must work together. No one man can totally do every job necessary to obtain a dream so big. So instead of believing that you don't need anyone's help, try another way.
